NME AWARDS TOUR 2013
I got to shoot the NME tour when it came to the Birmingham night. What a night it was, I have to say it’s probably the best line-up there has been for quite a few years. I’d shot Peace before but only at a small local show the Rainbow, Digbeth and it was great to see them on a large stage, a lot of people had come down early to catch the lads set and they weren’t disappointed! Their debut album ‘In Love’ is out now, and I can’t recommend it enough, it will definitely be in my top five albums of this year. Next up were Palma Violets who kept the party going belting out songs their debut album ‘180’ which is out now. Up next was Miles Kane, who I thought should of headlined, I’d seen and photographed him before and he sent everyone into a frenzy, peppering his set with new songs from his second album ‘Don’t Forget Who You Are’ due this year and if new single ‘Give Up’ is anything to go by, it’s going to be even better than his debut!
Django Django headlined the night, I’d probably of been a bit worried after coming on after the storm that the three previous bands had created, but they really came into their own, with an amazing lightshow that added a lot to their eclectic pop melodic songs.
