I flew over to Berlin, Germany last month for valentines with my girlfriend. We only had four whole days there to take in some of the sights. I’d heard of this band FIDLAR (Fuck it dog lifes a risk) before we’d flown out. By a very fortunate coincidence they were playing whilst we were there at the Club Bi Nuu. I sent out a few emails and before you know it I had two guestlist passes and a photo pass. Now i’d only heard of this band via Soundcloud (and a good friend of mine Tom Holloway), and had an inkling they would be pretty mental, I was correct. It was probably one of the most crazy gigs I’ve been lucky enough to photograph as I was in my favourite position, in an amongst it, with no pit! They were playing a series of 6 gig curated by Intro magazine up and down Germany, supported by Vimes and a great band from the North East, England, called Shields, who were a great bunch of lads who i got chatting to at the end of the night.
I reviewed the gig for Counteract Magazine as a sort of introduction to FIDLAR’s uk tour as i was shooting them the following week in Birmingham, which was just as crazy!
here is my review
